We call on The Pokémon Company International and the relevant Pokémon retail partners to establish an official Pokémon Center in the United Arab Emirates, whether through a physical store, an official UAE online store, or both.

The UAE is home to passionate Pokémon fans, trading card collectors, players, and families who want to enjoy the Pokémon Trading Card Game (Pokémon TCG) and other official Pokémon products. Yet accessing these products at reasonable prices can be a significant challenge.

We believe UAE Pokémon fans deserve better access, more reliable availability, and fairer prices.

The Problem: Pokémon Products Are Becoming Increasingly Inaccessible

For many Pokémon TCG fans in the UAE, purchasing sealed products such as booster packs, booster boxes, Elite Trainer Boxes, and special collection boxes can be considerably more expensive than purchasing comparable products in the United States.

Limited local availability, international shipping costs, import-related expenses, multiple layers of distribution, and reseller markups can all contribute to the final price. Popular and limited products can become especially expensive, sometimes reaching several times their original retail price.

As a result, fans may have to choose between paying substantial premiums, relying on overseas purchases, or missing out on products altogether.

This creates an uneven experience for collectors and players who simply want to enjoy the hobby. It can also make it more difficult for newcomers, younger fans, and families to participate.

We recognize that international shipping, taxes, customs charges, and regional distribution all have legitimate costs. Our concern is that the combined effect of limited availability and high markups can make the hobby unnecessarily expensive for consumers in the UAE.

Why an Official Pokémon Center Could Make a Difference

An official Pokémon Center presence in the UAE could help address these challenges by providing a trusted, direct channel for purchasing authentic Pokémon products.

We are asking for:

1. Official Pokémon Center retail access in the UAE

A physical Pokémon Center would give fans a dedicated destination to explore Pokémon products, discover new releases, and connect with the community. If a physical location is not immediately feasible, an official UAE online store would be a valuable first step.

2. More accessible and transparent pricing

We want official retail prices that reflect reasonable regional costs and are not unnecessarily inflated by layers of reselling. While we understand that prices may differ between countries because of taxes, logistics, and other expenses, UAE customers should have a fair opportunity to purchase products at official retail prices.

3. Reliable access to new releases

Fans should have better opportunities to purchase regular expansions, booster packs, collection boxes, accessories, and other official products when they launch, rather than having to rely primarily on resellers or overseas suppliers.

4. Greater protection and confidence for consumers

An official retail channel would help customers verify product authenticity, understand pricing, and purchase with greater confidence.

5. A stronger Pokémon community in the UAE

An official Pokémon Center could also create opportunities for community events, product launches, collecting activities, and greater engagement with the Pokémon TCG community across the Emirates.

Why the UAE?

The UAE has an established retail, e-commerce, and entertainment market, with customers who are passionate about international brands and collecting hobbies.

Pokémon fans here should have a better opportunity to participate in the hobby without facing avoidable barriers simply because of where they live.

We are not asking for every product to cost exactly the same as it does in the United States. We understand that regional pricing and operating costs vary. We are asking for a legitimate, official retail option that improves availability, offers transparent pricing, and gives UAE customers a fairer experience.

Even the introduction of an official online store with UAE delivery, followed by consideration of a physical Pokémon Center, would represent meaningful progress.

Our Call to Action

We respectfully ask The Pokémon Company International and the relevant Pokémon retail decision-makers to recognize the UAE as a market worth serving directly and to explore establishing an official Pokémon Center presence in the country.
