As a pedestrian and driver, the intersection of king and George streets is awful, far too busy for this tiny area! Any mitigation would be incredibly beneficial.

It makes so much sense! But with council being in the state it’s in I think it unlikely they will make any decisions to change anything….

Glyde St is the other access road to George Stand Marmion St. Big utes and SUVs go way too fast up and down the street. No logical reason why Hubble St and Sewell St shouldn't share the load.

We also notice overflow Tradewinds parking and foot traffic in Glyde Street

I am signing this petition because I believe the council needs to review the way traffic is managed in the Plympton Ward. I have lived in 3 East Fremantle streets over the past 46 years and watched the traffic problems change and increase over that time. The intersection of East St and Marmion has been improved with the installation of a roundabout. I hope it stays. The intersection of East St and Canning Highway is still very dangerous. So much so that drivers use Glyde St to avoid it.

Glyde Street is dangerous with too many vehicles travelling at speed.

Glyde st is dangerous. With all the street parking blocking vision; these vehicles using it as a thoroughfare will not be able to stop in time if a child / pet / person enters the road between parked cars. I would also support a speed limit of 40km/hr. I constantly have confrontations with people racing up the street from Canning Highway, demanding they slow down. This is a well timed petition; I had planned to contact council re this issue myself before seeing this.

I’ve been a resident in Glyde St for the last 35 years and fully agree that traffic management should be reviewed for this area. While the bridge closure has exacerbated this issue, I don’t believe we should simply return to what was the old status quo of Hubble and Sewell streets being closed and Glyde St having no traffic calming measures. It’s long overdue for the council to develop a more comprehensive plan that balances traffic for all residents.

In the past, I have contacted East Fremantle council about this problem and nothing has been done. This is a fantastic idea. Thank you Pip East Street has always been a thoroughfare, but since they've made it a more quiet street, the traffic has increased hugely especially in Glyde Street due to it being next to East St street

Over 30 years I have been writing letters of complaint to East Fremantle Council regarding increased traffic and speed through Glyde St - especially after the speed limiting devices were installed in East St (hence commuters, tradies, just use the next street along which happens to be Glyde)! Council always think they know best and disagree with me, but the reality is - there is a duty of care by them to protect school kids, residents & Glyde Inn elderly patrons but they are failing to do so.

Because I’m a local and the roads have been very busy and dangerous

Plympton traffic worsened this year due to the speed humps on the north side of Marmion Street. Installed as a deterrent to using Marmion during the Fremantle Bridge closure, they channel eastbound traffic (including trucks and buses) down Glyde and nearby streets, with loss of safety and amenity to residents. Not thought through.

Glyde St has become noticeably busier over the time I have lived here, I believe there needs to be some measures in place to slow the traffic, particularly around the Primary School.

Too many vehicles including heavy trucks and buses (Ive seen a Transperth bus driving down Glyde street at speed twice). It’s dangerous and disturbing the atmosphere of our neighbourhood.
