I have a great neice that has played soccer since she was old enough to join a team She has been invited to play on international teams and s excellent in soccer. It would be wonderful to have enough fields here so travel out of town to play on borrowed fields would not be necessary.
In addition with the numbers of new families moving to our community more fields would ensure that all who wished to play soccer could do so. Lack of available fields would not be a detriment.

Cottontown desperately needs fields besides the one that they use to practice and play on. You’d think the city would support a soccer club that’s brought in a lot of medals and trophies from various tournaments around the country. These kids deserve this!

Our kids need places to practice and play soccer. We have wonderful facilities for all other sports and I would love to see a nice facility for our soccer loving kids. With a facility like this, games and tournaments would bring more people into our amazing community rather than our kids always having to travel outside of our community to play. It would be a great addition to our recreation department.

We have traveled for years to play soccer, spending thousands of dollars elsewhere. It would make us so proud to host a tournament on our own turf, and spend our money locally.

Our daughter has come up through Athens rec, Athens club, and now Athens High soccer, and we’ve watched her play at great complexes all over the Southeast. Towns smaller than ours have them; Athens still doesn’t, despite years of families asking. A multi-sport turf complex would give our kids a real place to practice and compete and would bring tournament revenue into the city. The need is obvious and has been for a long time and it’s time for city leadership to get it done.
