AI generated images exist only due to the unauthorized theft of thousands of images. There are 3 million people in the Sac Metro area - we have enough artists to not need AI. It is a betrayal on a massive scale to all of us to allow the AI film to continue unbothered. Human interaction is at the root of all art and by eliminating it, you are making something without a soul.

Real art involves the process of making it.

Generative AI does not belong in art spaces and is the complete antithesis to human creativity.

Generative AI is completely antithetical to the values of creativity, human expression, and artistic integrity that independent filmmaking should be celebrating. There is no shortage of non-AI filmmakers to celebrate and highlight, and supporting AI in filmmaking only serves to take away from the voices of real artists.

Art has been since the dawn of time made by people. We the artists stand together to keep art original, collaborative and in real human hands.

Generative AI has no place in filmmaking or creative art programs and platforms. This completely undermines the efforts, craftsmanship, and commitment of each individual involved in these films. Whoever’s decision it was to approve this project for the program should reassess and consider the inevitable repercussions this will have on the community. Do better.

Keep AI out of places meant for celebrating achievements made by humans.

AI is literally taking opportunities from actual artists, and it’s coming for our jobs, water, and energy too. It’s awful, and a local film festival allowing it is despicable.

Limitations and obstacles breed creativity. Let’s see what your hands and eyes and words can make!

AI is not made by human hands. Art is distinctly human and shall remain that way.

Real art is important leave the art to the artists not the robotics

I think art can only be created by humans. Something mimicking human nature cannot create art because it doesn’t experience the environment in which the art is created

Using generative AI to make films, posters and BTS not only steals opportunities away from filmmakers and artists, but it limits your abilities to create and think for yourself. We are not machines, we are human. AI is soulless with no heart. No amount of prompts can make Art.

As a filmmaker myself I view Ai as a threat to my artistry

AI is not inevitable, and it will never replace human creativity and the life-affirming value of art. Access Sacramento should support real humans, not machines that will take everything from us if we allow it

I take great pride in my work and I don't want to be compared to someone's lack of effort to use AI
