I'm scared that ai will take away what makes us human, our creative expression and ability to inspire and be inspired will no longer exist in a future where ai takes over which is fast approaching, and not enough people care enough about it. "What's the point of expressing myself if AI can do it for me?" Or people not being able to tell ai between real human art hurts, because that is sacrificing a piece of what makes us human and substituting it for something that is shot out of a machine

The actors, directors, set designers, and all other humans involved in the film industry should have their creation visions respected and celebrated, not imitated or directly copied by a computer. Leave the art and creativity to those who can appreciate it.

I don’t want artists to feel like the time and dedication that they give to their craft is something that can be replaced by cheap AI tricks. If this is truly an opportunity for filmmakers to grow and learn then let them do that hold them to a higher standard than the bare minimum and what’s easy. I want to see these artists personal interpretation of what’s most important to them and what connects them to our city. I don’t want a cheap imitation of creativity.

While a prompt (or a very well-crafted series of prompts, prompt corrections, curation, further prompts, etc) may be difficult, and may itself be worthy of recognition (as effort) — what GenAI generates is not created by a human, and therefore is not art.
Whether visual arts, movies, music, dance choreography, literature:
Humans want our art from a human mind, intent, experiences, feelings, hopes & fears, expressed by a human.
Otherwise there is no point to viewing or hearing it, at all.

Sacramento has a DUTY to show the rest of the world that they are committed to human works made BY HUMANS! Don’t continue the cycle and help run our planet into the ground! AI ‘filmmaking’ undermines the Place Called Sacramento mission to create opportunities for local artists to collaborate, build technical and creative knowledge, and strengthen Sacramento’s network of skilled filmmakers. I do not think that AI filmmaking is appropriate to exhibit or compete in PCS.
