Ai has no place in the film community. More importantly it is absolutely horrible for the environment. We need to preserve the planet and human creativity.

AI is a travesty that preys on actual artists. It is theft. It is dishonesty. It is appropriation.

Ai has become a detriment to all. Taking work away from people, stealing art, spreading misinformation, and should not be considered an art form, as there is no creative process from telling a computer to create art by prompts.

Showcasing any AI video at PCS is a slap in the face to everything the PCS festival stands for and the Sacramento film community at large. It's not filmmaking, it's not community building, it's not Sacramento.

If one of my students used AI to complete homework it’s cheating. Using AI for a completion is the same.

If AI were just the cutting edge in making people dumber, or just a newly essential piece of the military-industrial complex, or just an automatic plagiarism machine, or just a massive bubble on the verge of popping, or just a machine that makes intentional creation impossible, or just made universally shitty work, it would be reason enough on its own to boycott it. Miraculously, it's all of these things at once and some people still won't have the integrity to boycott it.

AI is not a creative artform, and therefore has no place among artists. Including AI generations in an art showcase is insulting to the entire industry.

AI should not in any way be a part of the creative process. As creatives, we cannot take shortcuts that take away opportunities from real human actors, cinematographers, etc.

It's hard enough to be an artist without art-stealing, environment-destroying AI mucking everything up.

Generative AI is extractive, exploitative, and antithetical to the very nature of art as a medium for expressing human thoughts and emotions.
