PETITION TO SULLIVAN COUNTY PARK & LAKE
Request to Review Refrigerator and Outdoor Appliance Policy
We, the undersigned campers, visitors, and supporters of Sullivan County Park & Lake, respectfully request that the Sullivan County Park & Lake Board review its current policy regarding refrigerators and other large outdoor appliances at campsites.
We understand the need for reasonable rules that promote safety, cleanliness, appearance, and proper electrical usage throughout the campground. However, we believe a yearly appliance permit system could provide a fair alternative to prohibiting these appliances altogether.
Proposed Appliance Permit Policy
We respectfully recommend consideration of the following:
- Campers may purchase a yearly appliance permit allowing an approved refrigerator or other large outdoor appliance at their campsite.
- Each large appliance would require its own separate permit and yearly fee.
- Appliances must be kept in good working condition and maintained in a clean and safe manner.
- Appliances must meet any electrical, placement, appearance, and safety requirements established by Sullivan County Park & Lake.
- Permit fees could help offset administrative costs, electrical usage, maintenance, or other expenses associated with allowing outdoor appliances.
We believe this type of permit system would give Sullivan County Park & Lake greater oversight while also providing campers with a reasonable option for appliances that improve the convenience and enjoyment of their campsite.
By signing below, we respectfully request that Sullivan County Park & Lake place this issue under review and consider discussing an annual appliance permit policy at a future Park Board meeting.

I firmly believe we should have to choice to have a fridge or freezer for our food to be stored in and I do believe we should have the option to pay extra for it
