Casual drinks are an essential part of fostering a community among students, taking this away would be catastrophic for the atmosphere on campus.

Zernike Campus by itself feels somewhat grotesque and by limiting alcohol after 16, it would make there even more depressing that now people won't be able to interact and have fun by sharing a drink after their lectures.

Often chemists and chemical engineers, as well as people from other disciplines gather in the association lounge after a difficult day and socialise together with a beer. This brings a sense of community and belonging that is vital to the identity of what it means to be a student at our university. This would not be the same outside of university as it would not include spontaneity, and the possibility to meet and socialise with other likeminded scientists every day.

Student need a way to relax and socialize. It should not be the concern of the university if students drink or not as long as it is done responsibly.

It is stupid to prohibit alcohol if the pwn university serves it at any event they wish; even if in events are allowed, what qualifies as an event is a loose definition that could be taken advantage off. This is a clear step in restricting student rights and should be ended.

De Zernike campus is al kil genoeg zonder dat sociale evenementen nog verder in de weg worden gezeten.

I believe decompressing after a long day of studying is an important and intrinsic part of the of the study association's job. Beer is a small but significant contributor to this goal.

Not an alcoholist, but an alcohol free party is deemed utterly underwhelming by many.

Is this a joke? A beer is mandatory social lubricant, especially for shyer people. Are the side effects of ethanol seriously more damaging than the side effects of a life without pleasure?

It is widely accepted to have a place to enjoy a beer or a drink in the late afternoon. The university does not offer any kind of place for such activity. Student associations were the perfect place to enjoy a beer after the day. In my opinion university fails already at providing a place to get appropriate lunch for researchers and students, not to mention a place to drink. The university in my opinion should capitalise on the fact that student associations fill this gap at our university.

The university already struggles to keep students on Zernike, and to make the campus feel like a place to connect and socialise. We should be promoting social activities on campus, not tearing them down.

Looking back having a place to casually unwind on campus with like-minded people was an important part of my studies. On campus we were inclined to discuss our studies in a relaxing and fun way over a beer.
