The university already struggles to keep students on Zernike, and to make the campus feel like a place to connect and socialise. We should be promoting social activities on campus, not tearing them down.

Looking back having a place to casually unwind on campus with like-minded people was an important part of my studies. On campus we were inclined to discuss our studies in a relaxing and fun way over a beer.

Drinking casually is part of being a student. Taking it away will drive students away from campus where there is oversight from the association and into the city where there is less oversight

What makes student life meaningful is the spontaneous community it fosters. Study association rooms provide an essential, low-threshold space for students to unwind, connect, and support one another. Enjoying a casual drink together is a social catalyst that contributes to this warm, inclusive atmosphere rather than a disruption to it

The study associations lounges are a place where people come together, unwind and have fun. To me, this also includes a casual beer once in a while.

Many students gladly come to our campus knowing that after their classes, they can enjoy a drink with their fellow students. This creates social cohesion on our campus, and makes students stay around longer. When students know eachother better, they are more likely to help eachother out with their studies as well.

Getting together to unwind and a low-effort way to get in touch with people/students with a similar point of view. And alcoholic beverages should definitely be part of that. As a beta person it absolutely helped me getting out of my shell and create wonderful friendships.
