Alleys of Pass-A-Grille and Trash Collection

I have learned that there are quite a few elderly in our community that cannot walk far enough to take their trash to the street location near their home. Especially if the street is in the front of the home around a corner. I think we need to help these folks.

Because I am paying these people to pick up my trash in the alley. I’m rapidly approaching 90 and recuperating from a fix hip. I am physically incapable of pushing a loaded can that size! It is degrading to have to ask my neighbors to help me ! How ever many have helped me without asking. St. Petersburg has alley pick up because they have a few 1/2 size trucks. The difference is that they care about their customers.

We must place barrels between parked cars belonging to guests at temporary lodging across street - not a good look for visitors to PAG, and always concerned they will hit the barrels

We have a narrow lot and cannot wheel trash from our garage to the front curb. We have to carry all our trash by hand through the house and out the front door. This is not how things should work for the residents.

PAG has been through so much with two hurricanes. Restoring the community is extremely important, that includes appearances and signs that the community will be taken care of including trash. Many elderly folks are just not capable of hauling the big trash bins, the alley ways would certainly be more helpful. Thank you!

You have to remember that Pass a Grille was a village of its own before it became part of Saint Pete Beach. When it was built, utilities, garages all that access was put in the back of the homes for service through the alleys and to keep our streets clear of trash and debris Unfortunately, our previous public works Director, let some of the alleys get a bit overgrown and did not inform new residence to the community that the alleys had to be cleared of excess foliage and fencing.

Cans on the street are unsightly , in the way of traffic , view obstruction for traffic , etc . I had my cans stolen.. The alleys were meant for service , let's use them . Thanks!

Trash left at the curb leaves foul odors. Collection is appropriate in the alleyway as was in the past.
