This petition ist against the convex base of Thermalright Ultra-120 eXtreme and all other cooler who will have it in Future. We are enthusiats who want to gain the maximium performance out od their PCs. We overclock our CPUs, lap them to make them really smooth and planar and buy expensive heatsinks to cool them down. [Even not lapped the cpus are rather planar] BUT: the convex base will not provide sufficent contact to the planar CPU heatspreader. This makes it difficult for us to get the maximum performance, because the expensive heatsink does not provide the required and promised cooling performance. Thermalright annouced the convex base as a new feature to improve the contact. Sounds weird It is. Sign up now to prevent Thermalright from making really good coolers mediocre.
