They actually listened and finally put the two finger rule into the official books. I still get a bit shaky thinking about it since so many people said it was impossible but 3,334 of you proved them wrong and the horses represent the real winners here. Keep watching the warm …

Join us and help petition the F.E.I. that all dressage competitions should only be shown with the horse wearing a cavesson with two finger width between the horse's face and the cavesson, both in the show ring and in the warm up ring. This rule has been a standard for generations of horsemen and accepted as being the best for the horse. This rule/standard was so accepted around the world by every teacher and rider - that it was never even written down. Now we see training practices that include crank nosebands and rollkur. Training practices that are physically, emotionally and mentally detrimental to the horse. A return to this simple rule, that will be easy to teach and enforce, can make a huge difference for horses not only for those in the show ring but for all of the horses, whose riders and teachers use those horses in competition as their standard of correct training. Please sign today and share this with all equestrians that you know, and together perhaps we can make a difference. If you would like further information there many free articles available at the online magazine Horses For LIFE. Please check out the links provided.

I checked the total this morning and my coffee went cold because we are creeping up on that milestone so quickly and it is honestly wild to think how many people care about these horses. If everyone who signed today just grabbed their phone and sent the link to a handful of people in their barn group chats we would crush this target before the afternoon is even over.

I really never thought this would gain this much steam but here we are and it makes me think maybe people actually do care about the tension on these horses faces quite as much as I do. It is honestly pretty surreal to see so many equestrians finally saying that the current standard is just not right for the animal. I am looking at all these signatures and just feeling overwhelmed by how many of us want to see the old ways come back because it is just better for them.

Ridiculous how the sport has changed. These horses are athletes not machines. Stop the abuse.

My trainer always taught me the two finger rule. It is just basic horsemanship. Why is this even a question???

long overdue. the welfare of the horse should always come before a winning ribbon.

it is so sad to see how tight they crank those nosebands now. poor horses cant even open their mouths or relax their jaws. bring back the two finger rule!
