Notts County Football club are endorsing a company called BELLA, who are running various beauty contests. One of these, " Miss Photogenic" is encouraging girls as young as 13 years old to upload a photo of themselves and get as many Facebook " Likes " as possible. This is wrong! It encourages bullying and self esteem issues. Yes, the girl that wins will feel great, but what about those that don't get as many likes? This is pure and simple child exploitation. Beauty contests for adults are bad enough, they are an out-dated concept that is more befitting of the 1970's. A time when racism and sexism were acceptable. But encouraging young girls is too far! Young women of today are already under enough pressure to look good without companies trying to make a quick profit from these naive children. Notts County have already hosted one beauty contest, and are planning to host more. In a time when womens football is becoming more accepted, this seems like a massive backwards step!

They also have a competition called " Miss Proud Curves", as they believe women sized 10 and over are " curvy" and too big to enter "normal" pageants. ( not sure why any self 

respecting woman would want to enter one anyway )

Notts County have also claimed they are trying to start a campaign to get more women to attend football matches.  They are doing this by getting women to parade around the pitch before games ( they call this half time entertainment ), running beauty contests and getting women to model the teams new strip.  Men play in the shirt, why can't they use men to model the kit?  ( That won't please the male fans who make up the majority of supporters ).  Women aren't going to come along just to look at other women!

Also, Notts County recently had a number of girls at a game, who were there to simply promote this awful idea.  Dressed in outfits designed to attract male attention, they spent most of the game laughing at, and encouraging sexist comments from male supporters.  How on EARTH does this encourage women to attend football matches.

SCRAP this idea now!
