Zoning Petition For Storage Facilities in Town of Algoma

A storage facility does not belong here. It will be an eyesore and bring unwanted transient traffic to a peaceful residential area.

In my opinion, this project isn't a good fit for the proposed location. I was on two different trips in June and just learned about this project and the petition.

I feel a storage facility would be better serve the community if it was not next to the park but further out on Hwy 21 West

Many of us have only two ways out of our area, Sand Pit or Leonard Point Roads to Hy 21, more traffic on Leonard Point would cause a greater danger to walkers, bikers and traffic slow down to automobiles.Plus, would you buy a home facing a row of storage facilities??

I don't think a storage unit should be right next to a park for young children!

Absolutely AGAINST the storage units!

We want to entice quality businesses and homeowners in an attempt to bring our property values up! We Do NOT want our area to look like a dumping ground for other people's junk!

This will negatively affect the aesthetics of the area and property values. Leonard Point Road is not equipped to handle the traffic that would result from this project. It is already dangerous for walkers/bikers there.

I think storage units should be outside residential areas/communities due to the appearance and nature of the business.

I am a WI state certified real estate appraiser with over 30 years experience. It is my professional opinion that the storage units will have a negative impact on the value and marketability on the surrounding properties. If single family lots are not feasible for the 10 acre parcel then a higher density housing (duplexes, condominiums) should be applied. Typically this buffering surrounds single family residential properties to minimize incompatible land uses.

Being new land owners in the area, we strongly oppose storage units going up. We would have bought land elsewhere if we had known this might happen.

I am totally against a storage facility being build on this property.

Zoning restrictions are designed to maintain residential area characteristics and uniformity. To just change the zoning qualifications at the request of any entity makes zoning irrelavant.

I oppose the addition of storage facilities on Leonard Point Rd.

No storage units in this residential/ Jones Park area in the Town of Algoma, please.
