Farms like the one at Kings market are an essential component of building a better South Carolina. Studies have repeatedly shown that locally sourced food is an essential component to health, longevity, community, and numerous other socioeconomic benefits. By rezoning essential farm land, the county council is single-handedly, dismissing both of the health and wellness of the community and the economic resilience of the community.

Charleston County, It is time to change with the times! People are concerned about where their food comes from, and straight from the farm is what we want. What we don’t want is for our farmland to disappear and become part of the commercial urban jungle! This is a time for Charleston County to set a new precedent and be creative. To preserve our farmland, while creating innovative ways to help farmers prosper and people enjoy fresh food!
