I am also a farmer on edisto island and have experienced unnecessary burdens when it comes to zoning, just to plant new fields!! We need to make it easier, not harder, for new farmers to get their businesses off the ground. Charleston county residents need access to farm fresh produce and other agricultural products produced on the farm. Any changes made to the current zoning regulations to make that a reality are welcome and necessary for an agricultural heritage to survive in the Lowcountry.

I am a constituent of Meggett and I would love to support local farmers the ablity to provide our community with local produce and prepared foods regularly without having to rezone to commercial. This is needed for our sustainability. Yes please!
