In the state of Texas it is not a requirement for newborns to get a pulse ox screening at birth. A pulse ox screening is a test done that can tell you is a baby has CHD(Congenital Heart Defect). Many babies like our princess Zoey lives could've easily been saved if this test was done at birth. Our princess lived for 8 precious days. It wasn't until she was alive for 2 days that the Dr's realized she had a heart problem. Come to find out she had HLHS (hypo plastic left heart syndrome) which means she was missing half her heart. By the time they found the CHD it was to late her little organs had already fought so hard to work that they were not strong enough for her to get the surgery she needed to help her heart. On the eighth day her kidneys failed and she went to be with Jesus. We miss our baby girl so much and we know we can't bring her back but maybe we can help another family from having to go thru what we live with every day. Zoey only had half a heart but she fought with bit of it and more. Please help me get this law put into effect, our babies hearts are to precious to take any chances.
