The zero tax policy on sanitary wear is finally official. My hands are shaking as I type this because it has been a long and exhausting road to get here. We will monitor the markets now to ensure these savings actually reach the women who need them most.

It is common knowledge that every woman who is of age and not menopausal yet will have to use sanitary towels for atleast once a month.
Zambia is still developing and many people can barely meet their basic needs. Sanitary wear for women is a basic need and as such this petition is to be presented before the Minister of Finance in the Republic of Zambia to consider zero tax on Sanitary wear and this includes pads tampoons panty liners cotton wool and adult diapers.
This will help reduce the price of these vital commodities and help make them accessible to many women.

The silence from the ministry is exhausting but I talk to women every day who are struggling to afford these basic necessities. I am tired of the runaround yet I know we cannot stop until the cost of these products is finally brought down.

I buy sanitary wear because I have to. It's not a want, it's a need. It should be affordable for all women.
Sanitary wear is vital for the psychological and mental well being of all women. Barriers to their access must be removed!
Human rights are womens' rights. Remove tax on sanitary towels and other necessities for women. Sanitary towels are not a luxury.
In favour of zero tax. The high price is affecting most girls and stay away from school when they have their pees. In solidarity
