Zero Tolerance on the Abuse of Hare Krishna Children

ISKCON must have zero tolerance for child abuse. Investigate body must be an independent body and must work in tandem with local law enforcement and local judicial systems. It simple can't be an internal matter. Schools should be closed until such time we have well established and truly functioning Child Protection Independent entity. I urge parents not send them children to residential schools until such time.

Authority and govening bodies need to protect children from abusers not protect the abusers and cover up for them . Unacceptable .

I would like to see the Hare Krsna CPO, as a completely independent body that is transparent and accountable to the devotee public. The abused child should come first, be heard and supported and know that there is someone working on their behalf. Unfortunately the present CPO model in use, has very much been proved to be problematic and ineffective. Genuine people have worked (and still do work) hard to get problems resolved but to no avail. Everything seems to grind to a halt, communication breaks down and deliberate stalling appears to be the norm. The time is well overdue for change. Let us never forget that those children who have been injured (many for life) must always come first, must always be heard and must always be believed. Then the necessary action MUST be taken to ensure that the perpetrators are permanently removed and appropriate action taken immediately. We MUST have a professional, independent CPO available for them, with adequate funding, manpower and resources. The time for change is now.

Child abuse is an criminal offense of the worst material kind and has no place in a spiritual headed society!!!

I was very lucky, my gurukula was awesome our principle was very careful about our teaches and any hint of abuse was not tolerated at all. I knew this would come up again - there should not be Any live in gurukulas anywhere !!!! As a kuli - I hope we all stand up and change this. Hare Krsna

This movie is very eye opening, but only scratches the surface of some of the true horrors that was places on these innocent children and the disabling affects it has had on their future lives.

All abusers must be held accountable by Iskcon and reported to civil authorities.

We need to get this seriously in place otherwise our society is sitting on top of a sleeping dragon

This action should be put in place by banishing ALL abusers immediately.

What a stomach wrenching sickness this is! Every single guilty person, whether directly or indirectly involved should go to jail! Doesn't matter if Bhakta or Sannyasi. The bastards must fry for abusing our children. There are 2 mutually independent suggestions that I may present: 1) With ISKCON sticking to the current initiation system, it should completely divorce the CPO from the society and have them subcontracted as you would hire a lawyer or a Private Investigator. As long as there are disciples of ISKCON in CPO, then there's going to be incomplete work, especially when their own so-called gurus are involved. 2) if ISKCON changes to the ritvik system of initiations authorized by Srila Prabhupada, then the CPO can still consists of qualified and dedicated initiated members of the society. With the delivering guru being Prabhupada, no one will get unfairly advantageous treatments. Thank you for considering my points even though it may not be very popular or welcome Hare Krishna.

I joined ISKCON over 30 years ago and I am asking myself why should I remain in such a corrupt and morally bankrupt movement that sees the protection of children as less important than buildings. This is a test for the GBC members to finally show that they care for the safety and protection of children and young persons. The perpetrators of abuse can never be allowed any position in ISKCON. To see Bhavananda Das sitting on the vyasasana or in videos promoting the TOVP is an obscenity and reveals the rotten heart of the GBC that sanctions his position.

This is one of the most important issues facing ISKCON
