Hello! I'm Zehra Bakirdan, a junior Elementary Education major. I believe that I would be an excellent choice for Student Senate President due to my on campus leadership experience and passion for making a difference. I am currently the Student Senate Chief of Staff and through that I have been able to develop stronger leadership, communication, and organizational skills. My passion for making a difference would allow me to help continue to make the IWU community culture more inclusive and welcoming. I would really appreciate your consideration.

I met with the current senate leadership this morning to discuss the gaps in our current student outreach strategy. I am drafting a formal policy proposal regarding campus inclusivity that will be presented to the board during the next session.

Zehra is an incredibly smart and talented individual. Her leadership skills have been displayed through her participation in her sorority and her work on Student Senate. She’d be an incredible president.
