The reason there is a low accident record is because there has always been a lollipop lady. Now she has gone something needs to be done.

My children and I were almost hit on this crossing as drivers no longer stop to let us cross safely! It is appalling.

We need a zebra crossing or lollypop person for our school. It's dangerous for children trying to cross the road.

Im using this zebra crossing every day on the way to school and its not save at all. Cars parked at the site of the street reduce visibilty. And maybe 1 out of 5 cars drive at 20mph. Crossing is just next to the school entrance and at the time when school closes is getting very busy and gets very crowded next to the crossing.

This is ridiculous! No safe guards in place yet I have nearly been hit twice outside the school gates since our lolly pop lady left! As for residents, most have off street parking!

My children went to Thomas Becket and I have always thought that there should be a zebra crossing outside the school. Most cars generally go slow whilst driving past a school, but there are always a few that don't. I do not believe we should risk our children's lives because of these few.

If the council cannot or will not supply a patrol officer then without a doubt a crossing should be supplied with immediate effect.

I know that this is a busy road both from experience of walking and driving and it is in the safety of the children that the crossing/patrolman should be reinstated

I am surprised that we are even debating about this,Birchanger Road is a busy road with cars parked on both sides making visibility poor for children to cross safely.Lets not wait for a child to get hurt before something is done!!

I use this crossing with my children and have seen several 'near misses' since losing our lollipop lady. Cars don't know whether they are supposed to stop or not and many go flying through well over the 20mph limit.
