This is such an obvious, easily implemented, idea. Anything that can be done to avoid a forseable tragedy, should be done surely?

My friend's two boys attend this school. This adjustment to the road would be a positive addition, helping children cross the road safely and slowing traffic down.

We are very fortunate to have wonderful schools in Fairford in a fantastic green, leafy site but to access this site, cars and buses have to go up Leafield Road. I've been going up for 10 years and the road is an an accident waiting to happen. Please please please help to find a solution. The community is open to working with the authorities to find the best crossing system to keep everyone totally safe.

My daughter was nearly run over yesterday following her sister across the road. She is a slower walker due to a disability. A very impatient lady/mum nearly hit her. Witnesses say she was driving far too fast and obviously not paying attention. Hours of tears and anxiety last night from my daughter. Please, please put a crossing here. God forbid we have to wait for the first fatality...

This is an accident waiting to happen. We need this now not after something awful happens. Lets be proactive not reactive!

we need this crossing as well to stop the ridiculous speed some of the buses go along this road.

This road is very busy with drivers who are impatient and do not like to stop and wait. Parking in and around the area is very busy making crossing dangerous. This has been a problem for a long time and at least a crossing installed would help the children before an accident happens.

I have personally witnessed near-misses at this crossing point, with the majority of all traffic (both motorised and pedestrian) for both schools and the pre-school using this bit of road. Pressure on parking does not help.

This needs urgent action. My daughter was nearly knocked off her bike last week by a car driving too fast and not looking when it was a busy 3pm school finish time.
