True fans of the Zac Brown Band know what it means to be a part of a monumental, grass-roots effort to foster and promote a sense of community, philanthropy, and music. It is through the one-of-a-kind experience as a member of the Zac Brown Band fan club, otherwise known as the Zamily, that this group unites under one common ground, the Southern Ground, and all that this movement represents. It is because of this common bond that the Zamily dutifully and faithfully works to acquaint the general public with the opportunity to be a part of the Zac Brown Band "experience" in welcoming new members with open arms. This experience culminates with the uniting of these loyal fans (old and new) at live shows, featuring and sponsored by the Zac Brown Band and Southern Ground Records. However, the growing success of the band, the label, and the Zamily has recently attracted a great deal of attention, not all of it welcome. Scalpers, ticket brokers and ill-willed "fans" have used this medium as a cash cow, often joining in on fan club ticket presales in an effort to make up to eight times the face value of these coveted releases. As an unfortunate byproduct, true fans are denied the opportunity to purchase these same tickets; unable to pay the heavily increased prices from the alleged third parties. It is under these circumstances that the core members of the Zamily request that ticket sales revert back to "will-call," ensuring that all purchasing parties are required to retrieve their tickets from the box office only after showing proper identification and proof of payment. As a group, we feel that this is our best chance at the opportunity to enjoy what means the most to us as a "Zamily Unit." We care so deeply about the integrity of this fan club and work very hard to sustain it. We feel as if this is greatly compromised by such willful acts, to the detriment of both the Zamily and the band. It is through the words and actions of the Zac Brown Band that we understand this to be a symbiotic relationship, as it is clear that the members and management also hold the integrity of the Zamily as a priority and certainly would not want others to profit from our missed opportunities.
