I really never thought this idea would resonate with so many people. It feels like we are all tired of the same negativity and you are the ones truly driving this conversation forward.

it needs to be removed as it is used way to much against the creator and not the content. it is a bully tactic
If someone doesn't care for a video, they should be encouraged to explain why, not hide behind a trolling button. If they don't care enough to explain why, then they can simply - and maturely - leave. The dislike button is used mostly for childish purposes than constructive criticism. Facebook and Twitter do just fine without "dislike" functions; about time YouTube joined in!
Change is a good thing, help with metrics and not hurt the smaller channels
I can't think something more worthless than that button. They could just not save/hide the dislikes number like they do with comments and posts, but nope
Too much negativity on Youtube so this definitely needs removing.

The dislike button is not needed. If you don't like a video just don't watch it. Why does there always have to be a negative associated with everything?
