Alabama's youthful offender statute was written to protect young people under 21 years old who make a mistake and commit a crime as a first time offense.
The publication of their photo, arrest information, on Facebook, newspaper, or any other form of social media circumvents the intent of the Alabama Youthful Offender Law.
This practice should be stopped now.

Seeing this grow makes me think of the kids whose futures are being erased by public shaming before they even get a second chance. Your response proves that people believe in the original intent of the youthful offender law just as much as I do.

I'm not usually an emotional person, but your story has truly moved me to tears. I cannot even begin to express how sorry I am for the tragedy that has befallen your family. I wish you the best in these hard times and for your petition to save the lives of poor, innocent kids like Peyton.

He committed a crime. Everybody has been blamed here but him and his parents. Take responsibility.
