Petition to Provide a Cricket Field for Youth Cricket
To: City of Rocklin - Parks and Recreation Department
We, the undersigned city of Rocklin residents and supporters of youth cricket in association with YJ Cricket Academy, respectfully request the establishment of a dedicated cricket field in our community. Cricket is a growing sport that fosters teamwork, discipline, and a healthy lifestyle among young people. However, the lack of proper facilities has hindered our youth from fully engaging in and enjoying this sport.
Currently USA Cricket is providing a path way for the youth cricketers to select for the national team by playing and competing against Bay Area cricketers. Many aspiring young cricketers from our city face challenges in finding a safe and appropriate space to practice and compete. The leagues are denying entry to our youth teams as we don't have a cricket field. Our youth cricketers are travelling to the Bay Area three times a week to participate in the cricket competitions.
Providing a well-maintained cricket field would not only encourage physical activity, participation in the competitive leagues but also create opportunities for community engagement, skill development, and future sporting achievements.
We believe that investing in a cricket field will:
Promote youth participation in sports and outdoor activities.
Provide a safe and designated space for cricket training and matches.
Strengthen community ties through organized sports events.
Support the development of young athletes who aspire to compete at higher levels.
We urge the relevant authorities to allocate resources and space for a cricket field that will serve as a hub for youth sports development in Rocklin City. By signing this petition, we express our strong support for this initiative and request immediate action to make this vision a reality.

I honestly stared at my screen for twenty minutes earlier just processing the fact that people actually care about this as much as I do. Seeing the momentum shift like this makes me feel like the kids playing in the Bay Area might finally get a place to call home right here in town where they can actually practice without the three hour drive.

This club is great for us to learn cricket and especially for those who are deeply interested in cricket. Moreover, getting cricket ground can make our cricket practice and requirement more flexible allowing more people to join us. Getting the ground and pitch is great opportunity for us and we will be able to play more matches.
I live near Rocklin area. Since there is no cricket ground there we travel far for cricket. It would be excellent to have a ground in Rocklin.
We don’t have sufficient infrastructure for Cricket even at grassroots level. A lot of cricket enthusiasts don’t get to play because of scarce resources. Some have to drive hours to different cities to play the sport of their passion even for leisure
California has 2 major league, multiple minor league cricket teams but Sacramento is falling behind in youth development. This would be a great step towards developing grass roots cricket in the area
Cricket is a good sport. Like any other sport, it helps the kids to stay active, have fun, learn important life skills like time management, teamwork, face difficulties etc.

We only have a few grounds to play which makes it difficult for us cause we barely get to play every weekend because there are so many teams , and also we drive for hours
