Everybody makes mistakes, everybody fall short! God forgave us for our sins, find it in your heart to give him another chance to get back up and try again. His kids are growing. His parents are getting older. His choices made him miss a little of mile stones, but he deserves a second chance to see the future outside of a jail. He didn't kill anyone! As a child you think as a a child but you grow and mature. He deserves to be free. Have a change in heart.

Statement in Support of John Jones John Jones and I grew up together in Hubbard, Texas. We were friends, teammates, and, in many ways, brothers. In communities like ours, the path forward is often narrow. Many young men are forced to choose between two realities: the discipline of sports or the pull of the streets. John chose sports. He was an exceptional basketball player with the opportunity to compete at the collegiate level. As a former college football athlete myself, I understand firsthand the environment we grew up in and the pressures that come with trying to rise above it. Even when sports offered a way out, loyalty was constantly tested. Young men who didn’t have the same opportunities often expected us to prove we hadn’t forgotten where we came from. When conflict arose, they wanted to know who still had their back. John, like many of us, valued loyalty deeply—sometimes to his own detriment. I can say honestly that I made choices in my own life where, under slightly different circumstances, I could have been the one facing serious consequences instead of John. The difference between us is not character—it is timing, maturity, and opportunity. John is a man who has reflected deeply on his actions and taken responsibility for them. Over the last decade, he has grown in self-control, self-awareness, and mental strength. If granted a reduced sentence or the opportunity for release, his voice would carry real weight—especially with young people who are walking the same dangerous line we once did. He is uniquely positioned to speak to them about the cost of misplaced loyalty and the importance of never allowing others to influence you into giving up your freedom. As a father myself—one who grew up without a father—I’ve learned that growth comes through mistakes, accountability, and time. Only later in life did I realize my own father did the best he could with what he knew. That understanding doesn’t come overnight. It comes through experience

John is my Big cousin he has a family that really misses him out here. He missed out on so much of his kids life and I believe everyone deserves a second chance.
