The magazines have officially confirmed that they will change their editorial focus regarding relationships for young teens. Thank you for supporting this effort to provide a more balanced perspective for our youth. I intend to monitor their future issues to ensure these positive changes remain in place.
I don\'t know about you, but I get fed up of magazines aimed at 11-15 year olds making it seem that having a boyfriend during these years is a \"must\". Articles like \"nab that lad in 14 days\" and \"get him to notice you\" among other things. Why not have articles on how to be happy being single, having a good time with your mates, and making friends with guys. I am going to send this petition to Cosmogirl, sugar magazine, and maybe others once comepleted, date of compeltion will be 21st December 2004
The feedback I continue to receive confirms that many young people feel pressured by the current narrative found in these magazines. I am currently drafting a formal letter to the editors of these publications to present your collective concerns. Thank you for providing the momentum necessary to bring these issues to their attention.

The momentum behind this petition highlights a collective desire to change how we speak to young readers about their self-worth. It is encouraging to see so many people recognize that our youth deserve content focused on personal growth rather than social pressure.

YES! I remember reading this stuff and thinking something was wrong with me if I didn't have a crush. Toxic.
