As an instructor and a member of the Y, I can't understand why we would change from LM to a program which is not nearly the same caliber. Members simply won't support it as you have seen...

I'm a member of the Y for two reasons. Body Step and Body Pump, it's all I do, 5-6 days a week. I'm comfortable with the format and the new releases offer all the challenges I need. It works for me! I was lucky enough to find a form of exercise that I love enough to keep me committed. Best of all, I get results! There is nothing like the positive shared energy in a Body Step class. Best part of my day!

I have been taking body step class 2 to 4 times a week in the past almost 4 years. Also I have been taking a body pump class anywhere from 1 to 3 times a week in the past almost 4 years as well. Those two are my two favorite group exercise classes. I really hope there is a way to keep them going at the YMCA.

Removing Les Mills is definitely a mistake. It is the main reason I attend the Y. I will be following the amazing instructors who have been such a big part of my fitness routine- I'm certain most of them will be going else where where they can continue to follow their passion.

LES MILLS IS WHAT MADE THE Y WHAT IT IS. DO NOT GET RID OF IT! IF YOU DO, YOU WILL LOSE MEMBERS. YOU WILL LOSE INSTRUCTORS. IF IT'S NOT BROKEN, DON'T FIX IT!!!

I have been a member of the Y for over 4 years. Being a woman in her 50's I understand the importance of strength training. We need to build lean body mass, increase bone density, burn fat ... basically override the physical changes from aging. By combining Tai Chi, Pilates, and Yoga; BodyFlow is the answer. I live and breath for my BodyFlow classes. This is the ONLY reason why I come to the Y. The instructors are outstanding and the class is always challenging and packed! Without this class I will have to discontinue my membership and look elsewhere.

I worked at a YMCA for 15 years and this happened to us and it sucked royally that they took away Les mills, that Y has since had group ex almost extinct at its locations. The instructors are bottom of the barrel and they don't have any formal training and it is unsafe to have an instructor in front of any group of members who has not been trained. Les Mils continues its education each and every three months with continuous changes and advice for its Instructors and members as well. Always showing modifications for their programs so it suits all levels. I am glad I did find another club to teach Les Mills at, but I sure wish we had done a protest like you are all doing! Bravo Bravo Bravo to you. Keep up the good fight! Les Mills Forever!

I have been a Y member for 2 years. There are many tempting ads for other fitness centers who boast cheaper rates and more convenient locations. I keep coming back to the Y because I love the way I feel after taking a Body Flow class. Please reconsider your choice to discontinue this and other Les Mills classes. It would make me strongly reconsider my choice to remain a Y member.

Love Les Mills classes especially Body Step!!! Super fun workout and challenging for all of us who think that is important! Wish the Y would keep it!

I've been doing BodyPump for over 3 years and it's been such a great program, and the Y instructors are fantastic. With other, cheaper options for treadmills, etc. the Les Mills programs are what make my Y membership worthwhile. Please don't drop Les Mills!

The Les Mills class I love is Body Pump. It is the reason I stay at the Y. Please keep the all the Les Mills classes as they are important to many of your members for many reasons.....members who have been with the Y a long time and have built their workout routines around these classes. Thank you.

Please listen to YOUR members... we do not want this change. We love the Les Mills classes and they have become part of our routine and life. Members who have been dedicated to the YMCA for years should have a say. Thank you!

Please don't get rid of my favorite classes! I have made new friends and really feel like a community with my fellow body-steppers!!

Adding new formats to serve members does not mean favorite old formats need to go away.

Will more than likely not continue membership if we lose Body Pump. Why the secrecy behind this? Looks like the Y is less than open with their members about their programming.

After hearing that the Y is considering removing Les Mills classes, we have started to rethink our membership at the Y. It's the only reason my fiancé goes to the Y, so we'll have to find a gym that has Les Mills.

I think the ones that are consuming the product have a right to weigh in on the change. I do not support the change of removing Les Mills format.
