Please sign this petition to show your support for the FCMA Green Team's recommendations to cut the chemicals from the lawn care treatment. Lawns should be as safe and friendly to earth’s environment as they are to the kids that play on them. The correlation between various pediatric pathologies and childhood exposure to pesticides, herbicides and synthetic fertilizers is now well-established from a medical standpoint. The American Academy of Pediatrics recently reported that: “Epidemiologic evidence demonstrates associations between early life exposure to pesticides and pediatric cancers, decreased cognitive function and behavioral problems.”
Your signature is a simple way to show your support for the Green Team's simplified plan which requests of its lessor to replace lawn care services with safer, chemical free options, thus drastically limiting the students exposure to harmful fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides.

We are seriously considering sending our children here. This is an important consideration for us.
It's shameful to even think it's hard choice between: Green weed free lawns or Less childhood cancer, better cognitive function and less behavioural problems.
All children deserve a toxin-free environment to learn and play. I am so glad we are moving towards being in compliance with the teachings of the Holy Father in his 2015 Encyclical on the "Care of Our Common Home."
Maria Montessori herself recognized the importance of outdoor experiences in a child's learning journey. It will be a comfort to know that the outdoor spaces around our FCMA children will be safe and healthy! Thanks to everyone who put time and effort into ensuring a safe environment for everyone at the school.
My four children are used to weeding, as it was a daily necessity to maintain our beautiful home in South Carolina. We as a family can volunteer to weed, seed or do similar maintenance a little bit every couple of days and/or big jobs up to once a month. This would be well worth the effort just to have the kids and their friends not be unnecessarily exposed to known health risks.
Are kids should not be rolling around in deadly chemicals.
Please keep these toxins away from my children!

i would rather have my kids play on crab grass and dandelions than green grass.
