As a parent I fully support the students and believe that mufti is vital in their transition to uni it the work force.

I agree year 13 should be in mufti. As senior leaving students they are at the top of the school, in a position to be looked up to by the younger students. I feel being in mufti gives them that separation and makes them more adult in look and behavior

year 13's choose to be there. let them lead and be great role models for the younger kids. mufty lets them stand out and show who they are and what can be acheived. they have earnt the right.

It's worked every other year including this year, why stop it? So you can make more money off uniform?

I think this is a really good idea. Mufti in year 13 has been a privelage that all students at Orewa College spend years looking forward to, and simply having that ripped away for a reason that hasn't properly been explained to any of us is completely unfair.

The year 13's next year are the ones that were guinea pigs for the iPads firstly in year 9 and more importantly NCEA Level 1 digital learning. We were also the test year for separate boy and girl classes for PE in year 10. Our year has also risen the pass rate for NCEA Level 1 and most probably this year's Level 2. The least you could do is give us mufti for all our hard work adapting to a digital learning environment and practically teaching the teachers how to use the 1-1 devices in year 9. We have worked so hard throughout the prior years, dating back to 2010 yet you take away one of the most esteemed rewards we looked forward to in 2016. We need our identity as year 13's and that is to be distinguished by mufti. It's absolutely unfair and we feel that you don't manaaki us.

uniforms are an immoral utilitarian device to discourage self expression and control groups of people. They have no place in modern society.

What is the rationale for taking away the opportunity for year 13s to wear mufti. As an orewa college graduate it worked so well having year 13 in mufti it's a privalage that shouldn't be taken away and as this petition States differentiates the year 13 s from other students giving others people to look up to. Don't take away this

I agree that wearing our own clothes shows people who we really are and feel comfortable in our own body and clothes

I understand that the fine concerned Orewa community does have the opinion that the year 13 students wearing mufti does not "represent Orewa College." However most of 'us' students want to wear 'mufti' clothes when we reach Year 13 because first of all: the uniform cost is way too high to be buying new sets of school uniform as we keep growing. Secondly the students that are year 12 and under will recognise you as a year 13 better meaning they will show more respect to the year 13s. Thirdly we do not need uniform to "represent" the school at Year 13. The hard work we put into studies and the outcome will most likely contribute to the community in some way anyway! This definitely needs to be pushed because it's something I personally look forward to for Year 13!! Uniform is not something I look forward to wearing in Year 13!
