The school administration can no longer ignore this groundswell of frustration now that our numbers are exploding. They have been treating us like second-class citizens while favoring the year eights but this momentum proves they are running out of excuses.

Teachers, in all truth, we will barely be listening at all if we have class on the Wednesday, and by not having the much needed day beforehand to prepare, I know for sure that I, personally, will be freaking out. Think about it!
A very good idea! This will help us so much because I know that I will not be focused in class before the day of the exam. WE NEED THIS!!!!!! Especially when year 10s should be more focused on studying than year 8s, it's not fair that they get a study day but we don't.
The only thing we would be doing in classes the day before exams is studying, so why not have a study day where we can study where we need to. Also, it teaches us the crucial time management and self-control skills, if you want this to be a real experience similar to the 'real thing' time management and self-control on a study day is something required.
I would really benefit from a study day and feel I would be more mentally prepared for the exams, especially since I and many of us haven’t been able to designate any lunch times to study since we have had house drama. Thx :))))
It is really unfair the year 8's get a study day and we don't, seeing as though it matters more for us. We would get more work done from a study day than at school having subjects we may not even have exams for the day before!! :)
Honestly it's just common sense
Sure this all sounds a bit petulant at first, but some great arguments have been put forward. In the same way the year 8 exams aren't as 'important' as the year 10 exams, we are aware that ours do not matter as much as the ones in year 11 and 12, when placed into perspective. Either way, it does not take away from the fact that the entire objective of these exams is to simulate the conditions and preparation necessary for the exams in senior years. Without the guidance of teachers, the individual will be left to choose how best to optimise their time before exams. And if some students do fail to do so, so be it- since the school has given them an entire study day, it is entirely their responsibility. As such, a study day will not be an unorganised student's final plea- but the very opposite. This is an opportunity for us students to extend ourselves in our learning- as well as in our understanding of how we learn as individuals- more rather than a cheat out of studying.

History and many studies tell us that people work best when working together. With a study day Lauriston students could benefit from learning what that don't know, and helping others. Overall, this notion benefits all and will help the average exam score increase exponentially.
