We the youth are a key primary resource and capacity for any sector. Acknowledging that today’s youth have come of age in a generation very different than those before it, including great technological advancement, and that the skills held by younger colleagues can be valuable tools to ensure that accountability, transparency and responsibility are called unto one and all.

We feel misrepresented, misaligned and harshly judged for doing the right thing - an intergenerational issue that has existed in Africa for far too long. Among other forms of 'power play', reimbursement does not bear ANY reflection of the hurdles we - the YALI Regional Leadership Center East Africa (YALI RLC EA) Alumni - have faced to attend to and complete the coursework.

It is an insult to the various cohort alumni and a slap at the same time. It has also officially challenged our ability to network and create synergies far and beyond.

Our way forward is that this must end with us!!

We are here to make sure YALI as an institution is better because our names also depend on its growth. We are also willing, ready and able to serve within the institution itself if this will make it better than it clearly is at the moment....
