The Kumon center where i work is going to start counting problems where the variables do not follow the order specified in the book wrong and then writing an explanation as to why its wrong. For example, if x+y is the answer and the student writes y+x, the student's answer will be counted wrong. This is in fact mathematically incorrect, and I wish for these problems to not be counted wrong. If you agree, please sign this petition.
thats completely ridiculous. math is math regardless of the order and kids shouldnt be penalized for knowing the commutative property. stop making it harder than it needs to be
