WWC and Chamber Opposition of New Recycling & Transfer Station in Woodinville

Recycling & Transfer station comprises the “tourist” vibe, puts negative pressure on values and is not consistent with the experience of wine tasting, restaurants or Farmstead.

Such a dumb idea. Can't believe it's even an option.

Please locate the transfer station somewhere other than Woodinville. Placing it in the heart of the wine tourist district undermines the wineries & wine tour dependent businesses, & ultimately negatively affects the tax base in Woodinville. Please find another option.

King County is not following their own published process.

Yes, completely agree with moving the dump site away from the proposed site

The dump should be put outside the city of Woodinville and in the area of Bright Water where roads are already widened for the traffic it will create. Another option would be to purchase land in the country of Woodinville rather than in the winery district.

This dump is right next to: A bunch of winerys and brewerys. A special needs school Several businesses And a bunch of residential locations on the ridge right above it. Some of the brewerys and winerys do outdoor concerts in the summer. Who would want to go to a concert when it smells like trash? Thus would have a huge negative impact for the tourism of the area, not to mention the people that live nearby!

Please preserve our businesses in Woodinville.

Traffic on Woodinville-Redmond Rd NE is already bad and access is downright awful. This needs to go somewhere else.

Several points. A few years ago, then mayor of Woodinville, Bernie Talmas, actively fought Kingco's plan of Woodinville getting a transfer station AND a "garbage train" which would take the Woodinville's transfer station garbage northward. Is this current plan simply Phase One of a two-part plan?? Secondly, regarding the siting process, there's video of Ron Sims making a public speech about the then future Brightwater sewage plant. Basically, he said where Brightwater is currently located is where he wanted it built. Sometime after that, a siting group was formed, all the Kingco locations were quickly eliminated but the sites in Snoco remained. Guess where the 2+ billion $$ pork barrel Brightwater was built. Lastly, as with any citizen driven challenge, don't expect fair play from county of city governments, - they are not your friends - be prepared with a war chest and a top-notch land use attorney or attorneys.

Stop this dump

We already have the noisy and stinky Cascade Recycling Center in Woodinville, please no additional dump station! Woodinville is turning into a touring destination with the wineries, breweries, distilleries and the new pretty developments, don't kill that with another junk yard!
