WWC and Chamber Opposition of New Recycling & Transfer Station in Woodinville

This new transfer station should be east of Lake Sammamish to equally distrbute the responsibility for disposing of the waste in King County.

This only exacerbates the current traffic problems and makes no sense near a key business/tourist area

Please keep Woodinville wine district a destination for tourists and locals!

This might have been a simple warehouse district 15 years ago, now it is a tourist destination and a big, dusty, loud and smelly transfer station is not compatible with such a development.

This is the location of a local family run business that has been in Woodinville since 1977. Please do not force them to leave! I urge you to choose a less disruptive location.

This location where the transfer center is being considered is home to an 30 year old Asian women owned family business. This will impact at least 80 people and displace a business that has been a crucial parent of the Woodinville business community. There are other options that don’t require such impact, one of them being the current plot of land where the transfer station sits

King County’s plan to put a transfer station in Woodinville’s thriving wine country is NOT a good idea to begin with, much less forcing an existing multi generation family owned business to be out of business causing loss of jobs for all of its 100+ employees. This is definitely a poorly made decision to disrupt people’s livelihood unnecessarily & unfairly when there exists other options for a transfer station location.

Putting this facility in would hurt local businesses and undermine all of the growth and development in the Woodinville area in recent years.

Not a good idea for economic development in the Wine District of Woodinville. Someone with common sense needs to re-evaluate locating a transfer station in this area.

If KC were to go ahead with the Woodinville dump site, it means displacing an existing, long-standing minority-own business with 100 of folks losing their gainful employments. The dump site will be directly across the 2-lane highway from Chrysalis High School, which means young, new drivers having to negotiate against more dump trucks and increased traffic. And without easy access to I-405, the traffic volume on Highway 202, the main conduit between Woodinville Business District and Hollywood Hill will be significantly increased. The increased traffic volume and size of vehicles, specifically of the large dump trucks which also possess their own unique, undesirable odor which will certainly degrade the quality of “Woodinville Wine Country” visits by tourists from all over the world. By placing this new dump site in Woodinville, King County goes completely against its own 2016 study and recommendation in nurturing and improving Woodinville wine and beverage industry and supporting and preserving farmland and rural areas. King County, do the right thing and redevelop the existing Houghton Station.

It doesn't make sense to build the new transfer station in Woodinville where the roads are already choking on existing traffic and about to see even more with the new Farmstead site. It makes most sense to leave the transfer station where it is and upgrade the facility. Thank you for your consideration.

Targeting a successful and long standing BIPOC business with 140 employees when more appropriate sites are available?!? Thankfully the City of Woodinville does not support this choice.

I am opposed to the Proposal to create a new Solid Waste transfer station in Woodinville Washington.

Transfer stations should not take viable businesses during a pandemic. Please find a vacant, closed business location. It should not be that hard. Start with the boarded up abandoned buildings in down town Seattle.

Too much traffic congestion

Increase traffic will endangers the bicyclists, school students, and displace a long running family owned business.

This site should not be an option at all.
