I have been waiting for this! My children are currently in their second year of homeschool, and already my daughter is too old to participate in any community league sports except soccer. One of my sons in particular has high hopes for a future in football and/or basketball. In another year, he will be too old for community sports. I would be so grateful for the opportunity for them to play sports with their public school friends!

We should allow every child the equal opportunity to be the best they can be.

The only reason my child is in public school is because of cross country and track. Please pass.

Ladies and Gentlemen, this isn't rocket science. If you take the politics out of this decision and apply a little common sense, the decision is easy. We pay just as much property tax as those that go to public school, why are we not allowed to use the athletic programs? Long overdue.

Fully support this. All students should have access to sports and band. Lets get this bill started and have the governor sign it.

As a parent of homeschooled children I am in favor of the bill. I still pay taxes to keep public schools going even though my kids don't go there and don't eat school lunches. I think they should be able to try out for school sports.

When we visited the US Naval Academy, upon speaking to some of the outstanding young men and women present there, I realized that some of the more gifted students had had the opportunity to take extremely advanced classes as high schoolers, including Calculus III and Differential equations, yet they were still athletes. We do not have any kind of advanced STEM public school in West Virginia, and very intelligent students are either stuck in the integrated math series (Math I, II, III) and unable to advance, or must be homeschooled in order to challenge them intellectually. Educational flexibility, especially as it relates to extra-curricular opportunities, ought to be offered to all WV students, not just those attending public schools. It is disingenuous to take their tax money, and deny them access to the facilities that they are paying for,

I have a 10 month old whom we haven't decided if she will be going to public schools or not. Both myself and her daddy were very athletic in school, so she will get it honest if she chooses to play sports! Either way, no child should be left out and I think this is a great idea!

No child should be turned away for a chance to try out for a sport that they love and want to be apart of.

No child should be left behind. This is an amazing opportunity for homeschooled and private schooled children to get out and be involved in their community!
Great idea!
