WT is behind the times, no other 4 year insitution has such absurd requirements. Making sophomores live on campus is ridiculous.

I would also like to see single semester contracts for the dorm. Not full year.

Not currently a student, but this was one of my biggest issues while living on campus, especially for honors students who seem to be getting the largest penalty from this.

Students work hard to get dual credit in high school just to be told we can't live in an apartment until we reach 60 hours AFTER high school. I do not get it.

I don't see why stipulating post-high school hours is important. High school credit is still credit. Period.

Be sure to get buff I'd numbers in the petition process and it can be put into student body vote next election.

I lived in the dorms at WT before this rule was passed. I also graduated high school with 30 credit hours and was allowed to leave the dorms after just my first year at college because I had a total of 60 college credits. This was the best thing for me. I experienced dorm life but was able to establish more freedom and responsibility when I lived off campus.

I think it's crazy students are required to stay in the dorms until they have 60 post high school hours! I'm graduating high school with 30, that should count for something!

I earned 34 hours college credit while in high school and feel that they should count towards the 60 hours. I worked hard for those hours and feel as if they aren't counting towards everything that they could.

Seems silly to force someone to live on campus. If that individual was focused enough to get credit ahead of time then good on them. Plus letting them live off campus helps the community as well by allowing the students rent from those who have rental properties. If the community sees and increase in cash follow one would think they would support the school through donations or what have you.

I totally agree with this. Student should be able to get off campus when they have reached 60 hours. Regardless if they are high school credit. We work hard to accomplish those hours and it shouldn't matter if they are high school credit.
