Subject: Proposal for Starting a Wrestling Team

Dear Fellow Brock Community Members,

We, the undersigned, are writing to express our strong interest in establishing a wrestling team at Brock High School. We believe that a wrestling program would greatly benefit our students/community members by providing opportunities for physical fitness, personal development, and healthy competition.

Rationale for a Wrestling Team:

Physical Fitness and Health: Wrestling is a sport that promotes physical fitness, strength, agility, and endurance. It encourages participants to maintain a healthy lifestyle and develop a strong work ethic.
Character Building: Wrestling teaches valuable life skills such as discipline, resilience, self-control, and sportsmanship. It fosters a sense of responsibility and individual accountability.
Inclusivity: Wrestling is a sport that can accommodate a wide range of body types and skill levels, making it inclusive and accessible to many students/members of the community.
Competitive Opportunities: The establishment of a wrestling team would allow our students/community members to compete in local, regional, and national competitions, enhancing their sporting experience and school/community pride.
Community Building: A wrestling team can help strengthen community bonds as students, families, and local residents come together to support the team.
Request for Consideration: We respectfully request that the Brock School Board consider our proposal for starting a wrestling team. We are committed to collaborating on this initiative and are willing to assist in addressing practical considerations such as funding, coaching, and equipment.

Scholarship Info: A wrestling team can help give opportunities to Student-Athletes to further their education and also help them pay for it. Women's Wrestling is the fastest-growing sport in the USA, and the NCAA has just sanctioned it, so it will continue to grow over the next decade. Tarleton has just been approved to become the first Division I team in the state of Texas, so this will add both Men's and Women's opportunities right down the road from us.

Next Steps: We suggest the formation of a committee to further discuss the feasibility of this proposal, including potential funding sources, coaching staff recruitment, and scheduling.

We appreciate your attention to this matter and look forward to the possibility of adding wrestling to the array of sports programs offered at Brock High School.
