The distruction of the property at 410 Tucker Dr. has caused a great deal of consternation in our neighborhood.
The complete disreguard for neighbors, the neighborhood, nature, natural habitat, or wildlife is beyond anyones comprehension. It has completely changed the patterns of our local wildlife.
New Albany would have been a much better choice for the new owners. The trees have already been cut down and the land is flat. Big homes cannot replace big trees.

I am against allowing this variance. The city has limits on the number and size of structures allowed in the city FOR A REASON!!! That reason being to maintain the current character/landscape/mature trees, etc settings that exist. Allowing a relative "McMansion" and out-buildings, i.e. poolhouses, etc, to support the mansion, sets a dangerous precedent and will forever alter the beautiful Medick Estates neighborhood as we know it. The proposed plan calls for essentially putting the equivalent of another home, the 2700 sqft poolhouse, on the lot. Since when is putting two houses on the same lot in keeping with the character? Medick will just be the beginning if this is allowed.

The property at 410 Tucker is directly across the street from my home and removal of trees from that property has significantly altered the view from our living and family rooms. We only recently moved into this neighborhood, in large part due to the natural ambiance, and are greatly saddened by the changes that the new property owners have already made. We support anything that we can do to prevent the current plans from being approved. As homeowners that are more directly impacted by these plans, we are moved the support of our community on this issue. We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible at the hearing on Thursday evening.

Having recently had a pool installed (albeit not to the specifications detailed in the variance request), I can confirm that pool equipment can be stowed in an attached two-car garage along with yard equipment, plant fertilizer, lawn mower, blower, weed wacker, tiller, wheelbarrow, kids' bicycles/toys, golf clubs (three sets), table saw, beer fridge, recycling bins, along with my wife's car and my own (I get mine in when the kids bikes are stowed properly). Hence, an addition the size of my house (= 2,600 sq ft) is likely not necessary due to a "practical difficulty".
Further, the Board of Zoning Appeals should--barring anything other considerations--carefully consider the precedent set by approving this appeal to not only the Medick Estates neighborhood but also the City of Worthington.
I urge restraint and consideration of this request in context of what is best for our city.

If approved, the variance requested for 410 Tucker Drive would substantially diminish the essential character of the Medick Estates neighborhood, which its residents have worked so hard to preserve. Therefore, the variance application should be denied.

We chose to purchase a home in Worthington (as opposed to other neighborhoods in Columbus) because of the wooded character of the neighborhood and the spacious lots. Previous owner of our home was denied a variance because of neighbors' concerns that a proposed addition would detract from the neighborhood and interfere with adjacent properties. Thank goodness it was denied! (And it was much smaller than the proposed structures on Tucker.) We appreciate that our home and property are in harmony with the rest of the neighborhood, and our neighbors do too.

The planned compound is a extreme departure from the character of the neighborhood. I beg the Board of Zoning Appeals to reject the variance.

This property owner has willfully and intentionally destroyed the century old heritage of Medick Estates on their property. They have done this while still deriving the benefit of the care and responsible stewardship other homeowners of Medick Estates have shouldered going back over 100 years. In this, they have stolen the value, beauty and legacy of this neighborhood for their own selfish benefit from every past, present and future Medic Estate homeowner. This behavior should not be endorsed by approval of their variance request or the entire legacy of Medick Estates will be at risk.

According to the minutes of the ARB/MPC meeting on June 11, 2015, the new owner assured neighbors and the Board that "he did not plan to cut down the vegetation between the properties, the trees will stay."
