Le financement de la Bibliothèque Royale n'est déjà pas à la hauteur des collections historiques qu'elle héberge. Ce serait dommage de rendre la BR encore plus inadéquate.

I have read manuscripts at the Royal Library in Brussels, and would hate to see services reduced. It is of international standing and Belgium's prestige should not be impaired.

It would be totally irresponsable to make natioanla Cultural Heritage the hostage of communal conflicts.
Geen besparingen ten koste van ons (!) cultureel erfgoed!

As those budget cuts involve primarily permanent staff and the dotations of the Institutes, they specifically threaten the base permanent missions of federal institutes: data collection, preservation and diffusion, observing infrastructure and facilities and operational services. All those activities already suffered for many years fropm shrinking ressources, in favour of short-term soft-money funding. The latter cannot address the true needs of those base activities (monitoring of long-term evolutions like the Earth climate, preservations of scientific expertise and standards), but can only serve as a complementary variable resource. In the absence of any other viable support for those founding scientific activities that feed the research of the whole scientific community, the planned cuts will inexorably sign the death of full branches of sciences, for reasons completely unrelated to their actual importance for future scinetific progresses.

dat het reeds jaren in stand gehouden politieke wanbeheer van de federale instellingen moge verdwijnen: ook de huidige leiding in de respectieve instellingen is door de manifeste onkunde, onbekwaamheid en cultureel barbarisme verantwoordelijk voor het verval
