I'm a registered diagnostic medical sonographer who after only 6 years into my career am suffering from all of the above MSK injuries. I do upwards of over 14 patients a day.

I’ve been an Echo Sonographer for 6 years and am already feeling the toll. At 28 years old I have stenosis of my C6 and C7 vertebrae due to scanning and holding strange positions despite my be at effort to practice ergonomics. I could not agree more with this petition. Let them hear us!

I’ve been in this career for 5 years and it has already taken a toll on my body. Awareness needs to be brought to the safety of Sonographer’s bodies. We can’t keep caring for patients when we’re having rotator cuff or carpel tunnel surgery. Or even worse, back surgery. It’s time for employers to take care of their Sonographers!
