If we are going to encourage children and adults to be more active sports facilities which enable this to happen are crucial

Not just an 8 lane pool, a 50m pool should be in every city! It's not surprising that swimming is the most popular exercise. People of all ages can do this and all physical ability can exercise by swimming. As it’s a very low impact exercise, in some cases it’s the only way an individual can burn sufficient calories to avoid putting on weight. With the looming obesity crisis it would be so short sighted not to have a pool or to make sure an existing pool is fully utilised.

Wyre Forest Swimming Club Committee Member. We fully support this petition from our good friedns and neightbours in Worcetser Swimming Club, an 8-Lane pool is for the benefit of the whole Worcetsershire Community, not just for the people ot Worcester. Let us think about future generations, not just there here and now!

Worcestershire desperately needs an 8 lane competition pool to enable the county to hold the Worcester County Championships inside the county.

Us swimmers would be so great full of a new pool, however at 50m would me amazing as we quite oftern do long course competitions and having to drive all the way to Coventry or Cardiff is a bit of a joke when we could have a 50m pool to train in... This would help swimmers out lots and have more confidence in long course races!
