The London olympics was a huge success and promised a legacy. Sport is vital for the health and wellbeing of our county. An 8 lane pool is essential if the pool is to be used for leisure and sport.

An 8 lane pool must be built. The powers that be should not waste an opportunity of a generation.

A oerfect chance to provide facilities that will serve Worcester and Worcstershire for generations to come and allow Worcester to become a focal point for community swiimers and also giving the chance for competion swimmers to compete on an equal footing with other parts of the country, which at this moment is far from the case.

There is a competition pool in Worcester (Sansome Walk) where county competitions are held. Do we really need another one? How about catering for the citizens of Worcester who want to go to a fun pool with their family - Or don't family values matter any more?

Do we really need as 8-lane competition pool n Worcester. Of course not! Something that Worcester's ratepayers must pay for, that only caters for a handful of youngsters, is not in the greater public's interest. We want a leisure pool with a wave machine, water-fall, water spout, a lazy river and palm trees. The water needs to be welcoming to everyone, so a temperature of 32 degrees would be fine. In order to hold competitions the water must be between 25° and 28°C, which is very cold for public swimming and teaching lessons. Once the pool temperature is at this level it would take several days to reach a pleasant temperature, acceptable to the public. If Worcester had a leisure pool, as opposed to a competition pool, it would pay for itself and would be used more often by ratepayers.

Worcester MUST have a competition pool capable of holding a County level event. Anything less 25m, 8 lane is really unacceptable.at County Level.
