We lived at Wood Creek in late 2014 and early 2015. It was a horrible experience. I think the unit had horrendous mold from all the water leaks. Our dog and I suffered repiratory and ear infections the entire time we lived there. Our upstairs neighbor was a thug who threatened my wife because we complained aout him playing drums and having parties late into the night. He was supposed to be a caretaker for a disabled adult, but we suspected he was abusing the boy he was assigned to protect. He threatened the office staff and should have been arrested for the crap he pulled. The office only did something because we were on their case. The "remodel" is a joke and the flooring in the downstairs unit was cheap vynl on cement. We got a remodeled unit that had not been cleaned or painted when we moved in. We had to clean the unit to even live in it. The apartment was freezing and we could not walk around barefoot. The rent is outrageously high, the maintenance is appalling, and the manager is rarely there. The water bill was really high every month and I think the residents are payng for the water the complex uses to maintain the landscaping and rancid ponds. I hope you get legal relief from these crooks.

The head office for Wood Creek (Equity Residential) is not different from our local office; their website crashes when trying to leave a comment. The problems at Wood Creek are inherited from the parent company: They just don't care about anything but your rent money. Good luck with this petition, the office already told me they'll ignore it.

Lighting in and around the complex would really help

I agree on replacing the window and doors. the safety of these are from 1980's. most units have only 1 lock. most garages are safe. lighting is bad for walking and safety. I want to audit the water usage. I Believe tenants are over charged on water. I have been fooled by management how we are charged for water.

I agree with Tami. My rent has gone up 50% since I moved in, and they also promised me the makeover, but after I signed the lease they've done nothing but tell me that I have to arrange it all myself. A lot of rent to a company that turns its back on its customers. We all could use deadlocks but they won't let us put them in ourselves. Some lighting around the entrance to the complex would be very nice. As a last note, Wood Creek "management" (such as it is) tells us that our cars will be towed if they don't move for three days, but the complex is routinely used as a place to abandon a vehicle which sits for months on the property. Only residents are subject to the three-day rule, everyone else can dump their vehicles without a care. Thanks for this petition, it shows how many residents feel they are ripped off by this company,

The most frustrating part is that management won't return e-mails or even pretend that they care about the safety of our community.. We only get CYA notices that there have been break in's, and to remember to lock our doors! When locking the doors doesn't do much if the break ins are by forced entry! I get it, Equity is a large publicly traded company and the management might have their hands tied with capital improvement budgets, but at least respond to e-mails and act like you care.

Agree with all issues; for what we pay its important to feel safe in this community... Cameras help a lot, maybe a neighborhood watch program. Talk to one another, meet your neighbors and look out for each other. Garage updates would be good as well as front door reinforcements w/o raising rents. 24/7 security is also helpful.

I would like to add that they pay attention to the cars that are clearly broken down and not running (taking more than one parking spot), as well as the cars that are not registered. Also, I have lived At Wood Creek for a few months and the same liquor bottle is still in the bushes that I noticed when moving in. There is more and more garbage around the complex.

We've lived at Wood Creek for 3 years now and it's gotten considerably bad recently. The management staff is basically just collecting a paycheck and could care less about us as residents and our safety. There is a man living in his 4-Runner across the street in the parking lots between the college and welfare building that has been there for months now. The leasing office is aware of this man as he uses the bathroom attached to their building. Our community manager even drives her golfcart over to that parking lot and takes her smoke break right by his car that hasn't moved in MONTHS now but has done nothing about this. The crime in our community has increased dramatically and while I would never want to point fingers at someone down on their luck, it's someone that we need to atleast look at. First a foremost, I agree that they need to consider how much we're paying for our rent hire security to patrol our property. Just the presence of a security personal could be a huge benefit to all of us. Thank you for starting this petition and I look forward to making our community safe again!

After recently my car being vandalised...I deel is not worthy this place. I talked to management about this telling them that we don't care about having THREE swimming pools if we DO NOT have security!...I am very surprised I did not read all comnents here in yelp or other review.. We should be screaming all these in these sites, people DO pay attention..I am one of them...I checked so many places before getting here ...Rent very high but we did not care, according to reviews, security was not a big issue..??...

I would like to add the following: Refit all outside fluorescent light fixtures with LED lamps. Refit parking lot lighting with LED kits. Install LED spot lights on all four corners of buildings. Replace none working lighting fixtures on several buildings. I agreed with the petition with regard replacing garage doors with sliding doors as the current garage doors can be easily open with a butter or Pen knife.

In the past, we had been concerned with security and contacted Wood Creek staff only to be told to take care of it at our own expense, which we did. Since the recent "forced entry" break-ins" we asked for and received improved door locks. We agree strongly with the petition requests and ask they be implemented in a realistic, timely manner.

We had someone try to come in through our front door several months ago, but it was locked and they were likely scared off because of our dog. Our mailman also notified me one day to tell me he thinks someone has been tampering with the locks trying to break in to those, as well. I believe we deserve to feel safe in this community for the amount of money we pay. Woodcreek needs to improve the lighting, install cameras, and have a security patrol roaming the property 24 hrs a day.

Two weeks ago, someone stole something off my front porch and went through a straw chest; it happened between the hours of 3 PM and 8 AM...on a Sunday/Monday. That scared me. I was home during all of those hours and obviously vulnerable. The thieves were brazen enough to do this. I have always felt we need a presence of "security". The high rent that we obviously pay makes us a target. Having a security patrol should be a part of our community. I think the situation is escalating because thieves know we have done nothing. Please...install cameras and have a security patrol...not just the police...but private as well.

Since I have been here, several years now, things have gotten bad again. I am scared to walk to my mailbox, I was approached and followed by a very scary person over Christmas and took a detour because I was scared. Things like this keep happening and I am afraid at night especially. My front door has a cheap lock and anyone could break in. The door frames are weak as well as my garage door. We need gates or security because the property is very large and easy to access.

I agree with most, we pay enough rent that these things should be done, without raising rent to do it.
