The board members at Auburn Bay are finally feeling the heat because we refuse to let them ignore our right to enjoy this winter season properly. This momentum proves that the residents are done asking nicely for the simple amenity of warm fires on the ice.

Wood fires bring neighbours together. That is why the city puts out free wood burning pits in community parks. Our neighbours enjoy this spot for getting together and socializing. It’s mostly the mums of young kids who want to keep warm. Please don’t ban our safe fire pit.
I support the use of wood burning fires on the lake. The punishment of the many for the lack of attention from 1 or 2 needs to stop. Put some guidance around the use and expectations so we can all contribute to maintaining a great community culture that we have. These are community gathering opportunities and killing this over the undue care and attention of a few is unfairly punishing the users of the facilities.
The fire pit it literally one of the biggest highlights for me and my kids throughout the year. Removing this makes no sense and feels like a real knee jerk decision based on one or two people. Please bring back the fire pit and educate people on what guidelines you want people to follow so we can allow enjoy this amazing community
No danger in having a fire on the lake. It provides a place for the kids to warm up. If there are some safety concerns such as putting them out, I’m sure that can be addressed another way than an all out ban.
Fires at the rinks allow a warm break spot for skaters, a smores & hot chocolate place for non-skaters and also create a sense of community. Wood-burning fires on the rink are part of Canadian winter.
Bring them back!
Why not put it to a vote? A few complain and hundreds miss out…

I really don’t see how an enclosed fire pit causes an issue. We have used it there for many years without any issues. I also don’t see the difference between the pathways/private docks using a fire pit and the one that the Auburn house uses at the lake.
