Pay your employees that make you successful

Women and men alike should have the right to stay home and care for their children. They should be able to do so without the added stress of worrying about pay. They already have enough new stresses in their life of caring for a newborn child.

Me and my wife are both Hyatt employees, Hyatt is a great company to work for and we have two beautiful Hyatt babies, I think Hyatt would benefit as well, happy moms are more productive moms!

Having a new born baby is a time when a mother and baby need to bond. as a former teacher, we had three months maternity leave - so should all mothers-to -be!!!

We are the only advanced country who does not offer paid maternity leave and paid baby bonding. We need to change this!

I am signing this petition as an employee of Hyatt in Canada, to support my colleagues in the United States. Here, we receive 1-year maternity leave. We may take up to 17 weeks of pregnancy leave (before the due date), and 35 weeks of parental leave (after the due date). The father may take up to 35 weeks of parental leave, as well. In addition, we are still entitled to benefits and Employment Insurance (pay) during our leave, and guaranteed our job upon return. Whether you are a full-time, part-time, or contract Hyatt employee, it is our right. The USA needs to take care of working women; maternity leave should be a law. I hope Hyatt will consider this petition, it is simply the right thing to do. THIS is how we care so our employees can be their best. Best of luck!

I know Hyatt loves to take care of their employees, so this shouldn't be a problem. lol Lets get the mommas taken care off. You never know their children could be the next Hyatt employee.

Some hotels only offer an all-encompassing PTO policy which should is used for Federal Holidays, if the office is closed, and sick leave in addition to vacation. For employees that have been with the company less than four years there aren't many days that can be rolled over to account for and build a full maternity leave. As a note, you can not apply for short-term disability if you are already pregnant. Additionally, you need to pay into it in advance. If you don't, then the pregnancy is considered a pre-exisiting condition and you will have zero coverage. These are all factors that work against female hotel employees starting families and hoping to continue their career.

Although Hyatt was great when I worked there when I was pregnant, I think it could have been better if they paid more money.

Let's not overlook that Short-Term disability insurance can decline to cover you, even if you sign up to pay the premium.

Was shocked when I learned my colleague will have no paid leave. We're one of the best companies to work for, but this would go a long way towards making us THE best!
