Alabama WOMEN Dare Defend Our Rights

We are not only a laughing stock of the whole country but this bill (in its entirety) does not represent what Alabamians want.

Women’s rights are human rights!

We are fully cognizant humans. Please let us decide what we may do with our own bodies.

Abortion is a personal decision not a political one. I believe women have the right to choose. If a woman opts to abort I think it should be legal and safe for her to do so with no legal ramifications for her or the provider.

So much we do in this state is anti-life; this include no expansion of Health Care to give pregnant women prenatal care, still have death penalty, have most lax gun laws and 2nd highest gun violence. This law is not pro-life this law is anti woman or pro power and control over women.

This bill is terrible for Alabama women and for Alabama in general. It is wrong minded and wrong spirited. Governor I've, grow a spine! If you really cared about women and children's well being you would look to other ways to save and improve lives in our state, such as expanding Medicaid, fully funding Alabama's model Pre-K program and, of course assuring funding for CHIP! You would also do more to lift people out of poverty by reforming our regressive tax system.

No one should take away our rights to our own bodies.

Our state needs to help women and families and this law would hurt them.

MY RIGHTS

I am senior faculty at UAB, and concerned with the image of our state. It will be hard to recruit world class scholars to our university and state, given the dark shadow cast on our reputation by this bill.

As a citizen of Alabama, woman, business owner (steel industry), mother of 2 grown women, I am appalled by the abortion ban recently passed. This is damaging to the State, not only financially relative to expected costs to “defend” this unconstitutional law, but if enacted, on the health and welfare of women in Alabama. This is a short sighted political stunt that must be repealed.

This bill is absolutely shameful and we will feel the economic as well as adverse health effects from this.

I moved from Birmingham to Indy last year, but still care about what happens to the state. This bill is SO ant-women in the state. Also, they do not care about the babies after they are born.

This bill seeks to impose extremist religious views and will serve only to reduce safe abortions and will disproportionately affect poor women while its sponsors refuse to enact truly pro-life measures that protect women and families.

How far backwards do you want to go?

This bill is not really about protecting life.
