I am writing to ask you to make ending Violence Against Women in the City of Hamilton a priority. We see City resources used for many commendable activities throughout the City - but the focus on ending Violence Against Women and Increasing women's safety must come to the forefront. City Council must not allow the reduction of resources from other levels of government to result in the decrease of resources for women in our community. Policing must be able to prioritize preventing and ending violence against women. Further, services supporting women in Hamilton must be supported as must the infrastructure support for adequate employment, shelter, and resources.
I implore you to pay attention to the needs of the women of Hamilton, and to prioritize the safety of women in our community.
