Plain and simple- kids need to be in front of a teacher to have any chance of educational growth. Without that, regression is almost a certainty.
Hopefully the powers that be take this petition seriously.

Virtual school is not a sustainable way for children with an IEP to learn. They need structure, organization, and routine. Please allow at least children with resource classes to get back to school ASAP - they would be small class sizes and they need to see their teachers and therapists

My kids need face to face learning. My son is autistic and virtual is doing absolutely nothing for him.

Kids need to go back. Bottom line they need socialization. If you don’t feel comfortable with your kid wearing a mask don’t send them.
The district has another option for you
And please remember our teachers are human. They get sick
What we have now is online learning and they are only human and they get ill. Just like your kids and may not make it to class. It’s on the district to figure that out. They have sick days Support the teachers

Face to face is critical for Kindergarten skills to develop. Our daughter tries, but we are not a screens family, and this is not a way for kids to learn. Also, zero social skills are being built.

Kids NEED to be in school! Last winters flu season was a lot worse than Covid, online school is stressful for a lot of students. Children need real life teachers.

Please reconsider virtual learning and let our kids return to school. This is a difficult time for everyone, but other schools are finding a way to make it work and I believe WLCSD can too!!

We look forward to our children returning back to school soon. It's challenging, but modalities can be put in place to ensure a safe face-to-face learning environment for our kids. Looking forward to schools reopening soon. Thanks for the virtual schooling while everyone was trying to figure out the best way forward. We appreciate all the teachers and administrators who have put their best efforts and resources to ensure our kids are engaged and educated regardless of the difficulties.

I don’t know how it’s going to get better in this district from everything I’ve heard. I respect teachers and all they do - I feel for them and all of these kids who are in this awful predicament due to fear and other reasons that i may be ignorant of. You lost our 2 kids to private school for 5 day F2F. They are progressing and the school they go to is making it happen! It’s unfortunate, but many more may follow if this continues to go badly. I don’t know if our kids will be back to W.L. either. My kids struggled going back to school after being on virtual from March and out for the summer. All of these kids are regressing without F2F! So, even though we’ve left the district, i sign for the other virtual learners who deserve in person education!

We need to get our kids back to school. Look at trends. Use Huron Valley and Hartland schools as examples. Our kids are suffering.
