Our children need to have in school learning! Covid numbers are down. You are doing a disservice to the children! Open up our schools!

My 2 elementary school students are trying so hard to learn virtually, but they simply can't retain any information and all of the fun of school is gone for them. Its sad to see and its not fair for the kids. They are set up to fail. Young kids can't learn by staring at a screen, it just doesn't work. F2F learning is essential for their learning development.

Children don’t belong in front of a screen for learning, they need human interaction. I don’t know why the district bothered with a committee to return if the Board wasn’t going to try to implement any type of in person education in the first place. Put in place two options: face-to-face for the students who need it and virtual for the rest. Also, acknowledge your special needs students as you are doing an incredible disservice to them by ignoring all of their needs. They, above all other students, need more consistency and have in-person education. It is time to serve the families of the district, not yourselves.

No one knows the long term effects of wearing a mask for 7-8 hours. Why should our children be the science experiment?

I wasn't going to sign this but after speaking with many parents and teachers, opening the schools for face to face learning has to happen...not just for my kids but for all of them.

This age of insanity and irrationality needs to come to an end. And normalcy and stability return to the world. Especially when it comes to children going to school.
Its absolutely mind boggling that educators think it is feasible for children, especially children ages 5/6/7 are going to sit in front of laptop for hours on end and get the same learning experience, attain knowledge, exercise and wisdom that they would get going to school in person, a standard 5 days a week.
Not withstanding the damage this must be doing developmentally and psychologically to the poor kids,
They don't deserve to suffer or be denied the same rights as every generation got before in going to school, they deserve a real education.
Its all well and good pamerped and cushioned governors, politicians, civil servants and those in the education hierarchy who are on big salaries, being paid to sit at home still getting the big pensions and benefits, pontificating that us parents need live in a compete state of fear, sitting over our children for 8 hours a day, but I don't live on the same planet as them, as I have to work to keep a roof over my kids head and keep my family going. I gotta work as does my wife who takes care of 4 other kids and also works, otherwise I don't have a house or food in the fridge. If Walled Lake School District would like to pay me and my wife teachers wages and benefits to sit at home and supervise my child for hours every week. I will gladly accept but if that's not on the table I can't garuntee my child's participation or attendance in this farce.
If strip clubs, bowling alleys and bars are able to do business then my kid can go get an education which is her right and a nessicity.
